Terms of Service

In short: Old POS is provided free and "as is". Your data lives on your device, so keeping regular backups is your responsibility, as is verifying the accuracy of your records.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Old POS (the "App", the "Service") or signing in with Google, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The Service is provided by Old POS ("we", "us").

2. The Service

Old POS is a free, browser-based point-of-sale application: sales, stock, customer credit ledgers, purchases, expenses, reports, barcode scanning, receipt printing, backup/restore, and optional Google Drive backup. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Your responsibilities

Data and backups: data is stored in your device's browser. Clearing browser data, or losing or damaging the device, may cause data loss. Keeping regular backups (file or Google Drive) is your responsibility.
Accuracy: you are responsible for entering correct product, price, stock, customer, and credit information and for verifying reports before relying on them.
PIN and device: you must protect your PIN and device. If you forget your PIN, data may need to be reset — we are not liable for this.
Customer data: you are responsible for collecting and using your customers' personal information in compliance with applicable law.
Legal/tax matters: tax/VAT figures in the App are an aid only. They are not legal, tax, or accounting advice and do not replace any government-mandated VAT/EFD software. Consult a qualified professional where needed.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the App or related services (such as Google) for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, to harm others, to disrupt the Service, or to reverse-engineer it in a way that violates the law.

5. Google sign-in and third parties

Google Drive backup is optional and subject to Google's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the services or failures of Google, GitHub Pages, Font Awesome, WhatsApp, SMS carriers, or Bluetooth printers. You may sign out at any time or revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.

6. Intellectual property

The App's code, design, name, and logo belong to Old POS (or its licensors). You may use the App for personal or business purposes; you may not copy, sell, or redistribute it without our written permission. You fully own your own business data.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or fit for your particular purpose. Some features (such as camera scanning and Bluetooth printing) depend on your browser and device and may not work everywhere.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Old POS is not liable for any data loss, loss of profit or business, incorrect calculations, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the App. As the Service is free, our total liability in any case will not exceed the amount you paid us (zero), without affecting any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App and delete your data at any time. We may restrict or end your access, or discontinue the Service, for breach of these Terms, misuse, or operational reasons. We will make reasonable efforts to let you back up your data before discontinuing the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; changes will be published on this page with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh.
